Nexity teams up with Odalie to integrate innovative wastewater reuse solutions into its future real estate projects

Committed to preserving water resources, Nexity, France's leading urban regeneration operator, and Odalie - a joint venture between the Saur group, an exclusive player in the water sector, and French start-up InovaYa - have signed a framework agreement to promote the inclusion of Odalie's innovative solutions in Nexity's new-build projects, at the SIMI trade fair. In particular, this partnership will enable the deployment of Aquapod, a unique solution for managing grey water* within buildings, developed by Odalie.

Aware of the impact of repeated dry spells due to climate change, which are increasingly weighing on urban development, Odalie and Nexity are working to meet the needs of local authorities, alleviate drawdowns on water resources and thus rebalance the water management model in the region.

The Aquapod solution makes it possible to treat part of a building's grey water for reuse (the concept of reuse of treated wastewater (REUSE) made possible by the publication of a decree on July 12th, 2024). The solution creates a new cycle for this water, enabling buildings to recover and reuse up to 45% of the water consumed. The treated water replaces drinking water from the mains to supply new uses: watering toilets, watering green spaces or cleaning the exterior of common areas.

Convinced of the need to save drinking water, Nexity has signed a framework agreement with Odalie to promote the integration of Aquapod in future projects in which the Group is involved, as well as water solutions adapted to the specific needs of buildings.

*Grey water: domestic wastewater from showers, baths, sinks and washing machines.

Jean-Luc Porcedo, Managing Director of Nexity Transformation des Territoires, mentioned: “This partnership is a concrete expression of Nexity's commitment to helping local authorities build resilient, sustainable cities with innovative, economically viable technical solutions. We are proud of this partnership with Odalie, which will enable us to integrate the Aquapod operational solution into our operations.

Guillaume Germain, CEO of Odalie, comments: “Odalie and its solutions are paving the way for a new era, one in which sustainable water management becomes an essential pillar of real estate. We're delighted that Nexity is embracing water issues alongside us, and that our innovative solutions are helping to build the buildings and cities of tomorrow.
