Saur announces today that it has finalised the acquisition of the European division of Mobile Water Services from Veolia, in line with the commitments made by Veolia to the European Commission regarding competition.
Mobile Water Services, now Mobile Water Solutions within the Saur group, is one of Europe’s leading players in the mobile water sector. With a modern, combined fleet, MWS has an asset base of nearly 500 mobile units, employs over 80 people across the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Benelux, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Sweden, and serves a diverse portfolio of industrial applications. MWS customers will have access to the most advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies, including biogas and energy and resource recovery, as well as to the services of the Industrial Water Services division of the Saur Group.
This acquisition follows the terms announced on 9 May 2022, after consultation with Veolia’s employee representative bodies and obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.
Transaction consolidates Saur's industrial water business and opens up new markets
The Mobile Water Solutions division becomes the global mobile water services platform of Nijhuis Saur Industries. This major acquisition enables the Group to support a wide range of industrial players with emergency, planned and multi-year services. Thanks to MWS, our customers will have access to a reliable, high-quality source of treated water via our mobile units, enabling them to maintain their essential activities and production operations.
This transaction completes a decisive year for the Group in 2022, following the acquisition of several market-leading companies:
In May 2022, the American company Aqua-Chem became Saur’s North American platform for industrial water thanks to a portfolio of advanced water purification and process water treatment solutions with unique references in the pharmaceutical, beverage and defence industry sectors.
In April, the Group also acquired Flootech in Finland, a leading provider of advanced water treatment technologies, process water solutions and services to industries such as paper, energy and minerals worldwide, with a strong footprint in Scandinavia.
The acquisition of Sodai, a leading Italian player in the operation and maintenance of industrial water in the energy and transport sectors, in March 2022, complements the activities of Unidro, a global specialist in the supply of process water treatment and industrial wastewater treatment and reuse technologies, creating an Italian powerhouse in the water and wastewater sector.
Finally, in early 2022, the Group acquired two innovative Dutch companies: PWNT, a leading supplier of drinking water solutions, and Byosis, a specialist in nitrogen stripping and recovery, thereby strengthening the portfolio of innovations and technologies for drinking water purification and resource recovery.
"The acquisition of Mobile Water Services enables Saur to further consolidate its portfolio of innovative and sustainable solutions to enable industrial players to meet the challenges of tomorrow. Saur now has one of the world's most extensive portfolios in the field of industrial water management. This is proof that our group has entered a phase of acceleration towards its objective: to be the champion of the water transition by 2030. "
"By combining the strengths of NSI's existing mobile wastewater fleet with the experience of the newly rebranded Mobile Water Solutions, we are offering our industrial customers an expanded and innovative mobile fleet that enables them to better anticipate the availability of water resources in terms of quantity and quality.
