Saur gains new market share by winning two contracts in Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor). The Saint-Brieuc community council has just awarded Saur the management of its drinking water and wastewater services, making it the major player in the area, which serves 42,000 users. This latest victory demonstrates the Group’s ability to respond to the specific challenges of each area. Thanks to a tailor-made service, Saur guarantees the optimisation of wastewater systems to protect the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, which is partly located in a protected nature reserve and has to cope with a large
number of tourists and a significant fishing industry.
Stereau, the Saur group’s engineering subsidiary, is also demonstrating its expertise in the design and construction of resilient, sustainable facilities at a time when water is facing a number of challenges in Brittany. Following the inauguration of the new facilities at the Kerné Uhel drinking water production plant last September, Stereau is now preparing to assist Saur France in carrying out a feasibility study into the production of hydrogen from methane at the Yffiniac wastewater treatment plant to power the town’s buses.
"Today we are proud to be working with local authorities on the issues of energy autonomy and the circular economy. "
Innovation for energy optimisation in the Paris Region
SPL Confluence Seine Essonne Energie has confirmed its confidence in the Saur group for the Evry and Corbeil Essonnes wastewater treatment plants. As these two wastewater treatment plants, with a total capacity of 350,000 population equivalent, are located in the same geographical area, Saur is preparing to pool their management. This new method of management will make it possible to optimise water quality on the one hand and energy recovery on the other. Stereau is also in the process of building a biogas treatment unit that will produce green energy and reduce the energy consumption of these facilities. The SPL, in partnership with Saur, aims to make this shared management a model of excellence that can be replicated throughout the region.
"Thanks to our operational excellence and our capacity for innovation, we are proud to have won two new contracts in Saint-Brieuc and to be establishing a long-term presence in Brittany. At the heart of this collaboration are the preservation of resources and the protection of natural environments". "
"The shared management model for wastewater treatment plants is an illustration of the expertise of Saur and its subsidiary Stereau in preserving resources, limiting abstraction and accelerating the transition to water and energy in the regions "
