Assessing biodiversity to take more effective action at the territorial level

In 2024–2025, Saur conducted an in‑depth assessment of its impacts and dependencies on biodiversity, in line with the TNFD LEAP methodology and CSRD requirements.
This matrix cross‑references, for each major activity, the level of potential impact on ecosystems and the degree of dependence on nature’s services: water quality, flood regulation, groundwater recharge, and protection against erosion.
| Field example: At Saint‑Étienne Métropole, biodiversity inventories were carried out in partnership with France Nature Environnement Loire, combined with zero‑pesticide management and the preservation of refuge areas around drinking water facilities. More than 3,000 species were identified. |

Our decarbonization trajectory
Saur has adopted a Climate Roadmap for 2023–2032, representing a first milestone on the path toward carbon neutrality by 2050.
This approach is built around nine major levers, ranging from the decarbonization of the vehicle fleet and the optimization of wastewater treatment processes, to the development of renewable electricity generation solutions and the decarbonization of our purchases of treatment chemicals.
A trajectory recognized by Moody’s
Saur chose Moody’s Net Zero Assessment (NZA) to assess its carbon trajectory and transition plan.
The NZA provides an independent and comparable evaluation of a company’s decarbonization plan, taking into account its level of ambition, the means implemented, and governance.
Saur achieved a NZ‑3 score, reflecting the robustness of its climate roadmap.
